LARGO – Officers from the Largo Police Department responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on Keene Road north of East Bay Drive at approximately 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

According to investigators, an elderly pedestrian was crossing the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver, 30-year-old Serena Khouangsathieve of Clearwater, who remained at the scene, initially denied being involved in the crash.

The pedestrian was transported with possible life-threatening injuries to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg.

According to the arrest affidavit, Khouangsathiene told officers she had briefly stopped in a nearby bar parking lot, left after several minutes, and then found the pedestrian injured in the roadway. Surveillance video obtained later reportedly showed a vehicle matching hers traveling southbound on Keene Road and striking the pedestrian. A woman matching the driver’s description was then seen tending to the injured pedestrian seconds after the impact.

When questioned again after being advised of her rights, Khouangsathiene said she could not recall if she struck anyone. Investigators found a visible handprint in the dust on the hood of her vehicle consistent with the area of impact seen in the video.

She was charged with providing false information to law enforcement regarding the alleged commission of a hit-and-run traffic crash.

There is no crosswalk in the vicinity of the location. Investigators said that impairment was not observed. She was released after posting a $500 bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
