Traffic Homicide Investigators from the Largo Police Department responder to the scene of a vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023.
The crash occurred at the Keene Road and Belleair Road intersection blocking all southbound lanes.
According to the Largo Police, a southbound 2010 Volkswagen Jetta ran a solid red light and struck a northbound 2022 GMC Sierra, which was making a left westbound turn onto Belleair Rd.
The driver of the Volkswagen, who was identified as 38-year-old Kimberly Murzyn, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries. There was also a preschool-aged child in the Volkswagen who was transported to the Pediatric Emergency and Trauma Center at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the GMC was identified as 63-year-old John Devlin. He was also transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
