Officers from the Largo Police Department (LPD) responded to reports of a rollover crash at approximately 4:40 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Firefighters from Pinellas Suncoast Fire Rescue along with Largo Fire Rescue arrived on-scene of the crash on Walsingham Road near Indian Rocks Road.
LPD reports that the single vehicle crash involved a Toyota Camry that was traveling westbound on
Walsingham Rd at a high speed when it veered right onto the curb and sidewalk.
The Camry went through a power pole and struck a tree head on. The driver of the vehicle was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. LPD reports the driver is in critical condition at this time.
Investigators believe the crash was a result of a medical episode. However, the Largo Police Departments Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
As of 8 a.m., the roadway remains shut down due to the debris field and Duke Energy working on the power pole.
