LARGO, Fla. — Largo Police Chief Mike Loux held a news briefing Monday, December 15, 2025, providing an update on the ongoing search for missing and endangered 87-year-old Petro Kuqo.
According to the Largo Police Department, Kuqo was last seen on Friday, December 12, 2025, at approximately 9 a.m. A doorbell camera captured him walking through the parking lot of the apartment complex where he lives.
Police said organized search efforts began immediately after Kuqo was reported missing and are continuing. Those efforts include ground grid searches, canine deployments, and a review of surveillance footage from businesses and private residences.
Authorities have also conducted marine and aerial searches, including the use of drones and helicopters. Largo Police are working with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to utilize specialized units and expand search capabilities.
Police said all efforts remain ongoing.
Largo Police are asking residents in the community and surrounding areas to remain alert and to review any available surveillance or doorbell camera footage, particularly from the time period when Kuqo was last seen.
