Local law enforcement hosting National Night Out events this week

See the information below regarding events in Pinellas Park, Dunedin, Seminole, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) National Night Out event is on Tuesday, October 3rd, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in both Seminole and Dunedin.

Seminole:

Seminole City Center at 11201 Park Boulevard is an exciting new venue for this event. At the Seminole location you’ll get to see the GPV – their specialized armored vehicle that SWAT uses during armed standoffs. SWAT will have other specialized equipment there, such as robots and drones. The Marine Unit and a Humvee will also be there, as well as the impressive Mobile Incident Command Center that PCSO uses as the headquarters for major scenes. Seminole will also display the classic 1961 Plymouth Fury. Public safety partners such as Seminole Fire Rescue will send firefighters and vehicles, and several of the center’s restaurants will be on hand.

PCSO Assets:

– K-9 Demo
– Plymouth Fury
– Humvee
– Public Relations Table
– SWAT
– Forensics
– Mobile Command Center
– Tahoe
– Cadets
– Fingerprinting for Kids
– Marine Vessel

K-9 Demo is scheduled for 6 PM.

Dunedin:

National Night Out returns to Highlander Park at 903 Michigan Boulevard right next to the Dunedin Community Center and the Fine Arts Center. You’ll be able to get up close and personal with some of the most interesting PCSO vehicles, including their armored vehicles that can help shield deputies and the public from danger. Kids – and adults – are encouraged to climb inside for the full experience. You’ll also be able to see one of the Humvees that were used to rescue flood victims during Hurricane Idalia. Our Marine Unit will be there, too, along with a patrol vehicle, police bike, and the classic Dodge Diplomat police car.

Food will be provided free by the City of Dunedin.

PCSO Assets:

Clearwater Police

Countryside Mall on Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Clearwater Police Department will bring representatives of many of its
specialty units, including SWAT, K-9, Emergency Response Team, Traffic
Enforcement Team and others. Clearwater Fire & Rescue, meanwhile, will bring
multiple pieces of firefighting equipment and their personnel. Bayflite is
also scheduled to drop in.

It’s a great time that is fun for all ages, especially for children. Kids
can get free fire helmets, sit in a patrol car, and do other fun things.

“This is one of our favorite events of the year,” said Police Maj. Nate
Burnside of the patrol division. “It allows our residents to meet the first
responders who are there for them every day and to get a peek inside the
police and fire departments.”

The event will be held in the mall parking lot just south of Whole Foods,
nearest the intersection of U.S. 19 and Countryside Boulevard.

Pinellas Park Police

England Brothers Park at 5010 81th Avenue N on Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m.
