Man arrested for Aggravated Stalking in St. Petersburg

Dennis Barahona, age 22, has been charged with aggravated stalking and burglary of an unoccupied dwelling after he attempted to force his way into a house near 7th Avenue North and 49th Street North. His booking photo is attached.

On October 20th, at about 7:45 p.m., Barahona was seen trying to open a locked
front door at the home of a woman he did not know. He then picked up a large concrete stone and walked to the house’s backyard, where a neighbor confronted him. The neighbor called the police, and officers located and arrested Barahona a few blocks away. Barahona attempted to contact the same homeowner on at least two other occasions.

Also, in recent incidents, Barahona has been charged with inappropriate contact with two other women. In one case, he pushed a woman; in another, he grabbed a woman from behind.

Based on the investigation, detectives determined Barahona had approached
multiple women in a violent or concerning manner in the United Central and Disston Heights neighborhoods since August.

If you or anyone you know has had a similar interaction with Barahona or has
information about this investigation, don’t hesitate to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780 or text SPPD + your tip to TIP411.
