Gulfport, FL—Adrian Morales-Garcia was arrested by Gulfport police on July 26th, 2023, at 3:05 PM, facing a charge of attempted murder related to an incident on March 18th, 2023, at 4918 Gulfport Blvd. During the event, the victim was walking in the Gulfport Liquor store’s parking lot around 4:00 AM when a 2014 Chevy Cruize approached slowly. As the victim approached the vehicle, the driver opened the window and shot the victim with a .38 caliber firearm while standing beside the car. Despite being shot through the arm, the victim managed to escape as the shooter drove away.
Detective Sergeant Thomas Woodman led the investigation, successfully identifying the vehicle and the driver. Morales-Garia was operating his girlfriend’s Chevy Cruze that evening. A search warrant for Morales-Garcia’s cell phone location history and surveillance data placed him at the crime scene. Based on this evidence, Sergeant Woodman issued probable cause for Morales-Garcia’s arrest on July 21st, 2023.
On July 26th, officers surveilling suspected locations spotted Morales-Garcia at a residence in the 4600 block of 25th Avenue South. A well-coordinated response involving patrol officers, command staff, and detectives led to the suspect’s apprehension while getting into a 2015 Hyundai Elantra parked in front of the house. The Elantra was rented by Moralez-Garcia’s girlfriend. Law enforcement found a firearm inside the vehicle where Morales-Garcia had been sitting.
Presently, Morales-Garcia is being held in the Pinellas County Jail without bond, facing charges of attempted murder and being a convicted felon possessing a firearm.
