Man charged with aggravated assault after threatening to shoot his girlfriend in Clearwater Beach home

Officers from the Clearwater Police Department along with crews from Clearwater Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a home at 59 Acacia Street shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

Officers learned that the resident, 48 year-old David Ploch, armed himself with a gun and threatened to shoot his pregnant girlfriend and her dog.

A heavy law enforcement presence was in the area until Ploch came out of the home and surrendered to officers at approximately 10:30 p.m. Ploch was charged with aggravated assault and booked into the Pinellas County Jail.

At this time, no additional details were released by Clearwater Police.
