Arrest made after shooting death at St. Petersburg residence

Detectives from the St. Petersburg Police are on-scene of a fatal shooting. The shooting occurred at 4052 34th Avenue S. at approximately 7:48 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

Police officers arrived on scene and found 29 year-old Marcus Nilsen, with a gunshot wound. He was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital where he died from his injuries.

James White, age 25, has been arrested on charges of 2nd degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Marcus Nilsen. White shot Nilsen during an altercation at a house where White lives at 4052 34th Avenue S.
