Man Runs Red Light Resulting in Critical Injury Crash

At approximately 2:11 PM on April 16, 2015, a crash occurred at the intersection of 66th Street and 54th Avenue N in Unincorporated St. Petersburg.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Harrypersad Bridgemohan, age 70 of St. Petersburg, was traveling northbound in the inside lane on 66th Street N in a 1997 Honda Accord. Â He failed to stop at the red light at the intersection of 54th Avenue North and 66th Street North.
As Bridgemohan was entering the intersection, 77 year old Lawrence Michael of St. Petersburg, was attempting to make a left turn, in a 2014 Jeep Liberty, from 54th Avenue to enter traffic on southbound 66th Street.
Due to both vehicles entering the intersection at the same time, the front left of the Accord collided with the front of the Jeep Liberty.
Bridgemohan was transported to Northside Hospital in critical condition. Â His passenger, 41 year-old Glen Harrypersad of St Petersburg was not injured in the collision. Â Michael, the driver of the Jeep Liberty was transported to St. Petersburg General with minor injuries.
According to FHP, alcohol did not appear to play a role in the incident and charges are listed as pending.
