Man Shot and Killed After an Altercation at St. Petersburg Apartment Complex

St. Petersburg Police are currently investigating a shooting that left one man dead early Friday evening.

Shortly after 7 p.m., 35 year-old Joshua Starkey of Wesley Chapel was in a blue SUV in the parking lot of the Twin Brooks Apartments at 4601 22nd Ave S., when he got into an altercation with another man.

The suspect fired shots at the Starkey, and the SUV crashed into a concrete wall that surrounds the parking lot.

The suspect left the Starkey bleeding in the parking lot and drove off in the SUV. He died from his injuries after being transported to Bayfront Heath St. Petersburg.

The SUV was found a short time later, on fire, near 5th Ave S. and 26th Street.
