Man Arrested For Robbery at Wells Fargo Bank in Largo
On Thursday, September 21, 2017, detectives with the Largo Police Department and Pinellas Sheriff deputies located 34 year-old Erik Michael Durkin, at the Inn Town Suites at 2833 Roosevelt Blvd in Largo.
On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, Durkin entered the Well Fargo Bank located at 5250 East Bay Drive and demanded money from the teller.
He was given an undisclosed amount of cash in response to his demands. He then fled the area in a taxi cab and was dropped off a short distance away.
No weapon was seen during the robbery according to police.
After today’s arrest, Durkin admitted to committing the robbery during an interview with detectives. He was later transported to the Pinellas County Jail where he was charged with Robbery.
Durkin is currently on probation until 2037 out of Georgia for Bank Robbery. In addition, in 2013, Durkin was incarcerated for two previous robberies he committed in Pinellas County. He was released on September 16, 2015.
