Memorial service and final light-up for Zachary Henderson “Zach IONTB” scheduled

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Zachary Nicholas Henderson, who died on December 5, 2023, at the age of 23. Zachary was born on June 29, 2000, in Sandusky, Michigan to Brandon and Brandi Henderson. He had two brothers, Wyatt and Preston, who loved him dearly. In 2015, he moved to Florida, where he met his wife, Erica Ashley Henderson, and together they had a beautiful daughter, Melanie Grace Henderson, who was his pride and joy.

Zachary was a proud Boatswain Mate 2nd Class for the United States Coast Guard and a volunteer firefighter. He served his country with honor and dedication. Before those roles, he was a photojournalist for IONTB, where he showcased his passion for helping others and capturing the beauty of life.

He loved kayaking, fishing, bowling, baseball, board games and music. He had a bright smile, a warm heart, and a generous spirit. He touched the lives of many people with his kindness and humor.

Zachary is survived by his wife, daughter, parents, brothers, grandparents, Mike and Tammy Jones, Randy and Kim Henderson and Renate and Thomas Kelly, parents-in-law, Dawn and Eddie Corsino and Kenneth Page, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The Funeral Service is at Bay Pines National Cemetery on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes prior for the procession to the committal shelter.

We will always remember Zachary as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Zachary. You will always be in our hearts.

Due to inclement weather, the light-up scheduled for Saturday will be rescheduled

It has been almost 12 years since the inception of IONTB. Our operating expenses are not huge by any stretch of imagination but funds are necessary for our continued survival.  We are asking for a one time contribution or contribution on a monthly basis to help continue IONTB to flourish and enhance the coverage of news in the Tampa Bay area. Think of it as just giving up just a couple of your favorite coffee drinks each month.
