St. Petersburg, FL — A woman was fatally stabbed late on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in her home at 1904 54th Terrace South.
Police responded just before midnight to reports of a stabbing in progress. Upon arrival, they discovered 53-year-old Barbara Pullaro deceased inside the apartment with multiple stab wounds.

The suspect, her son, 24-year-old Rafal Gajowczyk, was found at the scene with injuries to his hands sustained during the attack. Authorities noted that Gajowczyk has a history of mental health issues.
Gajowczyk is currently receiving treatment at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg. Once released, he will face charges and be booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
