Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department continue to investigate a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist.
The crash occurred on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at approximately 12:40 a.m. at Overlook Driver Northeast and Bayshore Boulevard.
Based on preliminary information, a motorcyclist identified as 37-year-old Damian Astacio of St. Petersburg was traveling northeast on Overlook Drive Northeast.
A Ford F-150, operated by 21-year-old Luke Martin of St. Petersburg, was traveling southwest on Overlook Drive Northeast.
According to investigators, Martin made a left turn onto Bayshore Boulevard Northeast and into the path of Astacio.
Astacio died at the scene from his injuries.
Martin was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for injuries.
At this time, the investigation is still ongoing.
