Motorcyclist Dies in St. Petersburg Crash Overnight

Shortly before 1AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014, crews were called to reports of a traffic crash in the 400 block of 83rd Ave NE.

Arriving units found one motorcycle down off the roadway.  The 2006 Honda motorcycle was being driven by 40 year-old Jason Eric Itro.

According to St. Petersburg Police,  Itro failed to negotiate the turn and drove over the south curb and off the roadway. Itro and his motorcycle fell down a slight embankment and struck a concrete drain culvert. Itro came to rest in a small body of water and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol impairment is suspected.

Itro was a member of Endangered Species MC.  According to the their website;

The purpose of Endangered Species MC is to promote brotherhood and unity among riders. The objectives of Endangered Species MC are to provide a safe, social, and supportive environment for new and experienced motorcycle enthusiasts and to contribute to the community by conducting charity work as a non-profit organization.
