Motorcyclist Killed, Child Hurt in Pinellas Park DUI Crash

The Pinellas Park Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on the evening of Friday, October 18, 2024, involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck. The crash happened in the 8200 block of US Highway 19 at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Detectives determined that Consuelo Serralde was driving a white Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on US Highway 19, accompanied by a nine-year-old female passenger. As they traveled, a white Toyota Tacoma driven by 56-year-old Enerildo Lopez Rojas was heading southbound. Rojas attempted to make a left-hand turn directly into the motorcycle’s path, resulting in a collision with the truck’s passenger side.

Serralde was transported to a local hospital, where she died. The juvenile passenger was also taken to the hospital and remains in serious but stable condition. Both occupants were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Rojas exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene. He faces charges of DUI manslaughter, DUI with serious bodily injury, and resisting an officer without violence.

The investigation is ongoing.
