Motorcyclist Killed In Collision Saturday Evening on Starkey Road

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening after a collision with a vehicle in the 700 block of Starkey Road in Largo, Florida.




The crash occurred at approximately 5:45 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2016.  Units from Largo Police Department, Largo Fire Rescue, and Sunstar Paramedics were initially dispatched to the scene.  Upon arrival, paramedics evaluated the motorcyclist who was still in the roadway.  The motorcyclist died at the scene from traumatic injuries as a result of the crash.

The female driver of the 4-door vehicle was evaluated by paramedics but did appear injured in the collision.

Largo Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit still has the southbound lanes of Starkey Road closed for the investigation.

Preliminary information according to a witness, indicates that the car was traveling northbound on Starkey Road and made a left turn into the Forestbook Condos.  It was during the left turn when the motorcyclist struck the rear passenger side door of the car.

    • I was wondering if you ever learned any details? I saw this accident and haven’t been able to get it off my mind such a heartbreaking situation I think about his family all the time. I keep looking on here for any information and I’m so disappointed in the fact that this accident out side of this article has been treated like it never happened. I see posts all the time offering a donation for the family and information given so others might learn from such a life and it’s impossible to find anything? Please let me know if you learn anything that might be something that we can do to support this family during their loss.
