SARASOTA – The Sarasota Police Department is investigating a tragic traffic incident that occurred on Wednesday, shortly before 5:30 p.m., in the 1100 block of N. Washington Blvd. (US 301), Sarasota.
The incident involved a collision between a motorcycle operated by an adult man traveling southbound on US 301 and a Kia Soul driven by an adult woman.
Regrettably, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, and his next of kin have been notified.

According to investigators, the driver of the Kia cooperated with officers at the scene. She was also transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where she is receiving treatment for her injuries.
The Sarasota Police Department Traffic Unit is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this crash.
