Troopers from the FHP investigating fatality crash on SR-580

SAFETY HARBOR – A 23-year-old Safety Harbor man died following a motorcycle crash Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025, on SR-580.

According to investigators, the man was operating a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R motorcycle eastbound on SR-580 shortly before 6:00 p.m. West of Rigsby Lane, he failed to negotiate a curve, struck a raised concrete median, and was ejected from the motorcycle.

He was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

All lanes of SR-580 were closed for the investigation and reopened at approximately 11:20 p.m.
