Motorcyclist killed in crash on 4th Street in St. Petersburg

Officers from the St. Petersburg Police continue to investigate a crash that critically injured a 28-year-old motorcyclist on 4th Street N.

At approximately 6:42 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, the driver of a Toyota sedan, headed northbound, made a left-hand turn onto SW Monroe Circle North from 4th Street North. A collision occurred as the motorcyclist, heading southbound on 4th Street North, collided with the turning vehicle.

Subsequently, another collision occurred involving the motorcyclist’s vehicle and a southbound GMC pick-up truck. The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old male, was ejected from the motorcycle during this subsequent crash.

The motorcyclist was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he was listed in stable but critical condition.

On Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, the motorcyclist, Hector Jarquin Urbina, 28, of Pinellas Park, died of his injuries at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

The incident is under investigation.
