Motorcyclist seriously injured in suspected alcohol related crash in St. Petersburg

The St. Petersburg Police Department continues to investigate a serious injury crash involving a motorcyclist. It occurred at approximately 7 p.m on Friday, January 10, 2020.

Police say a 49 year-old male was opersting a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on 58th Street South.

The southbound lanes merge from two lanes to one in the 500 block of 58th Street, 

The motorcycle reportedly did not merge over and struck the raised concrete median.

The motorcycle went down, and the driver was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with possible life threatening injuries.

Police believe that alcohol appeared to be a factor in the case.

The investigation continues.

The name of the man is not available at this time.
