Motorcyclist Succumbs to Injuries One Week After Pinellas Park Crash

PINELLAS PARK — On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at approximately 3:10 p.m., the Pinellas Park Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on 66th Street south of 126th Avenue.

The crash involved a Nissan Rogue and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The motorcycle rider, David Joseph Lecher, 64, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries and died on February 11, 2026.

According to investigators, both vehicles were traveling northbound on 66th Street, south of 126th Avenue. The motorcycle attempted to change lanes and entered a lane already occupied by the Nissan, resulting in a collision.

The 29-year-old female driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Police reported that neither speed nor impairment was a factor in the crash. Based on the investigation, no criminal charges are expected in this case.
