A five-vehicle crash occurred on the northbound span of the Skyway Bridge at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
According to investigators, a tractor-trailer driven by a 31-year-old man from Hialeah, was traveling northbound when it failed to slow in time for abruptly reduced traffic conditions. The tractor-trailer collided with a Kia Sportage driven by a 48-year-old woman from Ruskin, and a Buick Envision driven by a 59-year-old man from Bradenton.
The impact pushed the Buick Envision into a Chevy Silverado operated by a 25-year-old man from Wimauma, which subsequently struck a Lexus GS350 driven by a 69-year-old man from Ellenton.
According to Troopers, all drivers involved, except for the operator of the Chevy Silverado, were uninjured. The 25-year-old driver of the Silverado was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
