Naked man arrested in Seminole for voyeurism and burglary

Detectives from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office have apprehended a Seminole resident on charges of voyeurism and dual burglary offenses.

The investigation began on August 23, 2023, following a complaint by a victim who detailed an incident wherein an unidentified male intruder unlawfully entered her backyard. The intruder proceeded to observe her through her bathroom window while she was preparing for her workday.

As the investigation unfolded, it was revealed that the alleged perpetrator, 71-year-old David Henning, gained access to the victim’s backyard by breaching an enclosed privacy fence. From there, he approached her bathroom window and covertly spied on her. Disturbingly, the detectives discovered that Henning was unclothed below the waist, thereby fully exposing his genitalia during the act.

On August 24, 2023, the detectives witnessed Henning repeating the offense, leading to his immediate arrest. The authorities formally charged him with voyeurism and a pair of burglary charges. During subsequent questioning, Henning openly confessed to a pattern of surreptitiously infiltrating the victim’s yard and peering through her window. He cited curiosity and sexual motivation as his reasons for engaging in this disturbing behavior.

Henning was taken into custody without any untoward incident and subsequently transported to the Pinellas County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.

Henning’s address of record is off Regency Avenue in Seminole.

He was released on bond on the evening of August 24, 2023.

On September 2, 2023, at approximately 9:41 a.m., deputies located David Henning deceased in his vehicle at 62 Causeway Boulevard in Dunedin. The death does not appear to be suspicious or criminal in nature.
