SEMINOLE, FL — A New Port Richey man was arrested Friday evening following an armed confrontation inside a tattoo shop in Seminole.
Jared Joiner, 35, was taken into custody on Friday, July 11, 2025, at approximately 7:07 p.m. at 8547 Seminole Boulevard. He faces charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
According to an arrest affidavit, Joiner was inside the tattoo shop with his girlfriend when he became involved in an argument with an employee. The dispute reportedly centered around family matters and Joiner’s prior incarceration. During the argument, Joiner reached into his girlfriend’s purse, retrieved a Taurus 9mm firearm, racked it, and pointed it at the employee from about 10 feet away.

Witnesses reported hearing Joiner threaten to shoot the victim. The incident was captured on surveillance video. The victim left the scene and contacted law enforcement.
Joiner, a convicted felon with a 2012 burglary conviction in Pinellas County, is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was found with the firearm concealed in the waistband at the small of his back at the time of arrest. He declined to speak with officers after being read his Miranda rights.
The investigation is ongoing.
