Northbound lanes of the Howard Frankland Bridge remain closed for repairs

Due to Tropical Storm Debby, parts of the Howard Frankland Bridge were closed, and a damage assessment is underway.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the northbound outside lane of the Howard Frankland Bridge was closed Monday morning at approximately 1:30 a.m. due to heavy wave action and debris coming onto the highway.

At 4:30 a.m., all northbound lanes of the Bridge were closed as portions of the shoulder and roadway washed out on the Hillsborough side of the span.

Motorists should seek alternate travel routes as crews work to assess and repair the damage.

Below is Traffic Cam footage from FL511 from Sunday evening before the lane closures.
