Officials Working to Determine the Cause of a Fire That Claimed One Life at the Glenwood Mobile Home Park in Unincorporated Largo

Units from Largo Fire Rescue, Seminole Fire Rescue, Pinellas Suncoast Fire Rescue, Sunstar Paramedics, and Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a fire at about 5:30 a.m. this morning.
Multiple calls were received by the Pinellas County Regional 911 Center about a mobile home on fire at 163 Laurel Ave in Glenwood Mobile Home Park in Unincorporated Largo.
According to investigators, residents were out walking at approximately 5:36 am this morning when they saw smoke and flames coming from the mobile home at lot #163.
Arriving units were informed that a victim was in the home and located where the majority of the fire was burning.
Crews worked to protect the surrounding structures and battled the fire so they could safely enter the structure to search for any victims still inside.
About 6 a.m., the fire department made entry and located a deceased subject inside of the living room portion of the mobile home. The resident of Lot #163 is known to be 66-year-old Joseph Pratico. The origin of the fire is unknown at this time.
Detectives say the mobile home was fully engulfed and is a total loss. There were three other mobile homes in the vicinity of the fire, also sustained minor to moderate heat damage.
Next of kin has been notified.
The investigation continues.
