Oldsmar Woman Arrested for Murder of Her 3-Month-Old Child

OLDSMAR, FL – A 26-year-old Oldsmar woman, Tess Ann Britt, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her infant daughter, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a call on December 13, 2024, at 3580 Meriden Avenue, regarding an unresponsive 3-month-old child. Paramedics transported the infant to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

An autopsy conducted by the Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be blunt head trauma, noting multiple brain bleeds and a large skull fracture. Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit identified the infant’s mother, Tess Ann Britt, as the sole caregiver at the time of the injuries.

Following an investigation, Britt was arrested on March 6, 2025, and charged with first-degree murder. She was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
