Oldsmar: Woman Rescued After Getting Stuck on Zip Line in Oldsmar

OLDSMAR, FL — Fire rescue crews from multiple agencies responded to a high-angle rescue at Empower Adventures Tampa Bay, located at 423 Lafayette Blvd on Saturday, July 12, 2025, after a woman became stranded on a zip line.

The call for service came in at approximately 1:24 p.m. at 423 Lafayette Boulevard in Oldsmar. The facility operates a zip line course consisting of five lines stretching over 3,000 feet, including sections that run over water.

Units from Oldsmar Fire Rescue, East Lake Fire Rescue, Safety Harbor Fire Department, Clearwater Fire & Rescue, Palm Harbor Fire Rescue, and Sunstar Paramedics were dispatched.

Initial crews located the woman hanging from the zip line cable about 20 feet from shore. A technical rescue team used Truck 48 to extend out over the water and bring her safely into the truck’s basket.

The woman was returned to land and medically evaluated. No injuries were reported.
