One Dead and One Critically Injured In Crash at Drew Street and Duncan Avenue in Clearwater
Clearwater police were dispatched to a deadly crash that occurred at approximately 6:30 am on Monday, October 2, 2017. The crash occurred on Drew Street and Duncan Avenue.
52 year-old Felicia Cunningham of Largo was driving a Hyundai Elantra east on Drew Street.
34 year-old Elizabeth Rivera of Clearwater was driving a Dodge Avenger west on Drew Street.
39 year-old Patrick Emery Smith of St. Petersburg was driving a Dodge Durango east on Drew Street.
43 year-old Gregory Alan Bennett of Clearwater was driving a PSTA bus west on Drew Street. The bus had no passengers and sustained only minor damage. The driver was not injured.
The investigation into the crash continues but the preliminary investigation shows that the two eastbound cars collided first, causing the Hyundai to flip onto its side and collide with the Dodge Avenger.
Cunningham died on-scene as a result of the crash. Rivera was critically injured and flown to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
No other injuries were reported.
