On April 30, 2023, at approximately 8:13 pm, the Tarpon Springs Police Department responded to the area of East Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. and Levis Ave. in reference to gunshots being heard.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers attempted to find witnesses to this call when they were notified that two subjects arrived at Advent Health of North Pinellas with gunshot wounds.
Through the investigation, it was learned that the shooting occurred in the 700 block of Lincoln Ave., and two subjects were shot.
Both subjects were treated and one died as a result of their wounds.
On May 2, 2023, The Tarpon Springs Detective Division along with members of the Pasco County Sheriff’s office arrested Tyquan Maurice Blanch-Smith for “Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Delinquent in Possession of Firearm, and Violation of Probation. Blanch Smith faces other charges from The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office also.
This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
