Clearwater Police arrested a Palm Harbor man following a wrong-way crash on Clearwater Beach. The incident occurred on Friday, July 26, 2024, shortly after 9 p.m. on Mandalay Avenue at Papaya Street.
The crash involved a 2005 Dodge Durango traveling south in the northbound lanes, which collided with a 2024 Mazda SUV. The driver of the Durango, identified as 63-year-old Don Carr, was charged with DUI with property damage.

Carr was initially checked at a local hospital before being booked into the Pinellas County Jail. The occupants of the Mazda SUV, including the driver and three small children, reported no injuries.
In addition to the DUI charge, Carr received citations for driving the wrong way and careless driving.
