Palm Harbor Woman Arrested For Attempted Murder Of Husband In Domestic Related Shooting

December 8, 2014

Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Palm Harbor residence at about 11:40 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014.  The residence is located at 2863 Cobblestone Drive.

According to investigators, 62-year- old Robert Albergo arrived home to find his wife, 50-year-old Marianne Albergo armed with a gun. Deputies say when he entered the residence Marianne Albergo pointed the gun at her husband and threatened to kill him.

According to deputies, Albergo was able to temporarily de-escalate the situation, but the two subsequently engaged in an argument and Marianne fired the weapon injuring Robert in both legs.

Following the shooting, deputies say Robert managed to wrestle the gun away from Marianne and exit the residence, where he requested their pool worker to call 911.

Robert Albergo was transported to Bayonet Point Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Marianne Albergo was subsequently arrested for attempted murder and transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

Deputies say the couple had ongoing marital problems.

The investigation continues.
