Crews from Largo Fire Rescue and the Largo Police Department responded to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at approximately 10:50 p.m.
The crash occurred in 1000 block of southbound Missouri Avenue. According to investigators, a southbound traveling pickup truck in the middle lane struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway eastbound.Â
Based on prelimary information, alcohol was not a factor with the driver of the pickup truck. The pedestrian had just left the Sports Shack bar and alcohol appears to be a factor for him.Â
The pedestrian was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg were he was pronounced deceased.
The Largo Police Departments Traffic Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation.Â
