On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at approximatemately 9:20 a.m., members of the Tarpon Springs Police Department and Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle that struck a pedestrian in the southbound lanes of US-19, just south of Beckett Way.
The male pedestrian was pronounced deceased on-scene. He was identified as 38-year-old Benjamin Kasianov of Pensacola.
The vehicle involved was a 2008 Mercury SUV that was being driven by a 21-year-old female who was not injured.
This is an ongoing investigation and police are asking that any witnesses contact the police department.
Southbound US-19 at Beckett Way will
be closed as the investigation continues.
