ST. PETERSBURG — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday afternoon on Gandy Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:56 p.m. on December 17, 2025. A Ford Crown Victoria, driven by a 58-year-old St. Petersburg man, was traveling westbound on Gandy Boulevard near 10387 Gandy Boulevard when a pedestrian attempted to cross the highway. The pedestrian, a 66-year-old St. Petersburg man, walked into the vehicle’s path and was struck.

After the collision, the driver fled the scene. Troopers later located the vehicle and driver in Plant City.
The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.
FHP troopers arrested Guy John Delucchi on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving a death. The investigation remains ongoing.
