Pedestrian on Mobility Scooter Critically Injured in Largo Crash

On Saturday, December 28, 2024, at approximately 8:03 p.m., the Largo Police Department Traffic Homicide Unit responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near N. Missouri Avenue and 4th Avenue NW.

A 2011 Buick Regal was traveling southbound on Missouri Avenue with a green light at the intersection of 4th Avenue NW when it collided with a pedestrian on a mobility scooter crossing eastward outside the designated crosswalk.

The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local trauma center. The driver of the Buick showed no signs of impairment and was unharmed. Both the vehicle and the mobility scooter remained at the scene.

The southbound lanes of Missouri Avenue were temporarily closed for the investigation but reopened around midnight.

The investigation is ongoing.
