Pedestrian struck and killed crossing US-19 in Clearwater

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) continue to investigate a fatality crash. The crash occurred on US-19 near Curlew Road at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021.

The 61 year-old male pedestrian from Dunedin was struck as he attempted to walk westbound across US-19 and into the path of an SUV. The SUV was operated by a 17 year-old male from Palm Harbor and traveling southbound at the time of the collision.

The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash.

Neither the 17 year-old driver nor his 15 year-old passenger were physically injured in the crash.

The investigation continues.
