Pedestrian struck and killed in crash on US-19 in Palm Harbor

Crews from Palm Harbor Fire Rescue and Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue responded to reports of a pedestrian down in the northbound lanes in the 37600 block of US-19. The crash occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and began to aid the pedestrian, a 39-year-old Odessa woman. The woman ultimately died at the scene.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old male from Tarpon Springs was traveling northbound in a gray Cadillac sedan on US-19.  Near the intersection of Cyprus Drive, the pedestrian was walking westbound across US-19.  The pedestrian walked into the path and was struck by the Cadillac. 

The lanes of US-19 reopened about 2 a.m. after the conclusion of the on-scene investigation.
