Teen struck by a train along McMullen Booth Road in Pinellas

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are on-scene of a crash the critically injured a pedestrian.

The crash occurred on Thursday, July 29th, at approximately 4:12 PM.

Troopers say a 16 year-old male was walking on the railroad tracks adjacent to SR-590 and west of McMullen Booth Road. The male pedestrian failed to see a westbound CSX freight train and was struck by the locomotive.

The pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa by LifeLine helicopter.

There are no reports of lane blockage.
