Detectives from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit (CAC), have arrested a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Detention Deputy for Possession of Child Pornography, Sexual Activity Involving Animals, and Transmission of Child Pornography.
Detectives began their investigation after receiving information that child pornography was being accessed and shared via the internet. Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified the suspect as 33-year-old Trevor Willis.
According to detectives, the videos were of children between the ages of five and fifteen years old. In addition to the child pornography, detectives also located videos depicting a child engaging in sexual activities with a dog.
Detectives say Willis used his personal cellphone while on duty at the jail and was logged into the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office agency Wi-Fi while viewing the videos. When detectives interviewed Willis, he admitted to obtaining and sending the child pornography files.
Willis was transported and booked into the Pinellas County Jail at approximately 10:26 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024.
Willis is facing Ten Counts of Possession of Child Pornography, Ten Counts of Transmission of Child Pornography, and Two Counts of Sexual Activity Involving Animals. He has been with PCSO since June 20, 2016.
On July 1, 2024, at 9:23 a.m., Willis resigned from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation continues.
