A Pinellas Park man believed he was meeting a 14 year-old girl at a Largo Park but girl was really a Largo Police detective.
According to Largo Police, Detective L. Moore began chatting online with an unidentified suspect contacted via a social media site on or about April 16, 2017.
During the conversations that ensued with the Detective, the suspect, later identified as 47 year-old Christopher Litteral of Pinellas Park, was told several times he was chatting with a 14 year old girl.
Despite being told the person he was chatting with was 14 years old, Litteral continued to engage in graphic sexual online conversations with the Detective and requested a meeting in order to engage in sexual activity with a minor. During the course of chatting, Litteral provided a photo of himself to the Detective, which allowed for identification.
On Friday, April 21st, Litteral agreed to meet with the Detective, who he believed was an underage female, at Datsko Park in the City of Largo. Upon his arrival at the specified location Litteral was identified by surveillance units and detained. Upon contact it was noted that Litteral had a concealed 9mm handgun tucked in-between the drivers seat and center console of his vehicle covered with a towel.
After being read his Miranda, he subsequently admitted to his involvement in this incident including his graphic, sexual online chats, and requests for a nude photograph from the juvenile. During interview, Literal stated he was meeting the female to give her advice against participating in this type of behavior and would not have completed the act even though he admitted to purchasing condoms as discussed during the previous night’s chat.
Litteral was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County jail at approximately 10:55 a.m. on April 21, 2017 on the following charges:
– Traveling to meet a minor
– Three counts of using a computer to seduce, solicit, lure or entice a child
– Unlawful use of 2-way communication device
– possession of a concealed firearm during a criminal offense
He bonded out of jail on $75,000 on April 21, 2017 at approximately 8:38 p.m.
