Officers from the Pinellas Park Police Department responded to single vehicle crash at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.
The crash occurred on Grand Ave north of Gandy Blvd. The driver and sole occupant was extricated from the vehicle in grave condition. Once transported to Northside Hospital, the victim was pronounced deceased from their injuries.
Through the investigation, it was learned the vehicle was traveling at a high speed while north on Grand Ave. The portion of the roadway the vehicle was traveling on bends to the right. The driver failed to negotiate the curve at a high speed,.ultimately leaving the road and striking a large tree. The collision caused the vehicle to be redirected back into the roadway.
The car involved was a 2020 Toyota Corolla.
The identity of the driver will be released at a later time during the investigation.
