Police in St. Petersburg searching for hit and run driver that seriously injured a bicyclist

The St. Petersburg Police Department is currently investigating a hit and run crash that left a bicyclist seriously injured.

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of 30th Avenue South at Martin Luther King Street South around 9:35 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2020.

At the time of the crash, the bicyclist was trying to cross the street. The victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Hospital.

Investigators are looking for a dark gray or black Nissan Altima that fled after the crash.  They believe the car has damage on the left-hand side and the left part of the front bumper.
