Two dead, one seriously injured in domestic violence related shooting at Pinellas Park business

Officers from the Pinellas Park Police Department were dispatched to 3320 122nd Avenue N at approximately 4:58 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021. The call for service was in reference to multiple people suffering from a gunshot wound outside a Pinellas Park business.

Officers located two subjects deceased in the parking lot of Hit Promotional Products and another injured with a gunshot wound. Fire Rescue crews arrived to treat the injured subject who was transported to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

Through the investigation, detectives learned the shooting resulted from a domestic quarrel between an ex-boyfriend and girlfriend. The male shooter fatally shot the female victim after shooting a male.

The male shooter remained on the scene, shooting and killing himself at the same location as the female. The male victim is currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital for life-threatening injuries.

The shooting was an isolated incident and there was no threat to the employees working at the business. At this time, the names of the subjects involved are being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.

The month of October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. The Pinellas Park Police Department encourages anyone who is the victim or knows a victim of domestic violence to report it to law enforcement. In addition, several community programs are available locally to assist in preventing domestic violence, such as CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse).
