Police Investigating Double Homicide Overnight in St. Petersburg
The St. Petersburg Police Department is currently investigating a double homicide at 6490 22nd Street South. Police received several calls of shots being fired near this location at about 1:47 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017.
When officers arrived on scene, they located two people in a car that had been shot.
Officers immediately began administering first aid, however the adult passenger, a man, died at the scene.
The adult woman driver of the car was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Hospital where she died a short time later from multiple gunshot wounds.
St. Petersburg Police have released the names of the two victims that were shot this
morning while seated inside a 2017 white Toyota RAV4.
The driver, and owner of the Toyota, was 48 year-old Jacqueline Yvette Green of 6490 22nd Street South. The passenger was 45 year-old Ashland Cleve Jarrett of 326 64th Avenue Circle East, Bradenton, Florida.
Major Crimes Unit detectives are still actively investigating this case. As
any additional information is developed or obtained, updates will be provided.
