Police Release Video of Suspect Fleeing After Stolen Car Crashes Into St. Petersburg Home

ST. PETERSBURG — St. Petersburg Police have released video showing the suspect fleeing on foot after a stolen vehicle crashed into a home and burst into flames early Sunday morning.

Investigators are asking the public to review the video and help identify the individual seen leaving the scene.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is asked to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780 or submit an anonymous tip by texting SPPD and the tip information to TIP411.

According to police, the crash occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. in the area of 4434 14th Avenue South.

Investigators say a Honda Accord crashed into a residence and caught fire. The occupants of the home were able to evacuate safely and were not injured.

The impact and subsequent fire caused significant structural damage to the home. A vehicle parked at the residence was also damaged.

Police say the driver fled the scene on foot before officers arrived and remains at large.

During the investigation, officers determined the Honda Accord had been reported stolen sometime overnight from the 2100 block of 9th Avenue South.

The investigation remains ongoing.
