A St. Petersburg man was killed when a DUI driver turned in front of his motorcycle Sunday afternoon in Pinellas Park.

On Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 4:40pm, 25 year-old Anthony Davis of Tampa was driving a blue Ford Mustang and stopped as the first vehicle in the west bound median lane of Gandy Blvd at Grand Ave for the red light.

At the same time, a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle was being operated by 56 year-old Lawrence Wagner of St. Petersburg.  Wagner was stopped as the first vehicle in the east bound median lane of Gandy Blvd at Grand Ave for the red light.

Roshell Rivas, age 20 of St. Petersburg, was driving a Black Ford Mustang in the center lane next to the motorcycle.

When both the east and west bound lanes obtained the green light, the black mustang and the motorcycle started accelerating to continue traveling east in their lanes.

According to Pinellas Park Police, Davis made an improper lane change and then ran the red left turn arrow attempting to make a u-turn on Gandy Blvd.  Wagner struck the passenger side of blue Mustang and was thrown off the motorcycle.

The black Mustang then struck the blue Mustang in the passenger side as well.

Lawrence Wagner, was transported to Bayfront Health Medical Center and was pronounced deceased.

The next of kin has been notified.

None of the other drivers or passenger in the black Mustang were transported to the hospital.

Anthony Davis, showed signs of impairment when speaking to officers on scene and a DUI investigation was conducted.  Davis was subsequently arrested for DUI Manslaughter and DUI Personal Injury Damage To Personal Property.
