Shooting investigation underway in St. Petersburg

At 5:36 a.m., on Monday, October 9, 2023, officers were called to a home at 1021 James Ave. S. for a shooting investigation.

Investigators have determined that someone fired several shots at the house. A man in his 50s who was inside the home was struck by a bullet. He is hospitalized in stable condition.

Detectives believe this shooting was targeted at the house. They are actively working the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Petersburg Police Dept. 727-893-7780 or text SPPD+ your tip, to TIP411.
